In response to a devotee's question about Spiritual Transmission, Avatar Adi Da discusses how the various schools of religious and Spiritual instruction fit within the Great Tradition.
("Great Tradition" is Avatar Adi Da's term for the total inheritance of human, cultural, religious, magical, mystical, Spiritual, and Transcendental paths, philosophies, and testimonies, from all the eras and cultures of humanity.)
In His seven stage mapping of the total developmental course of human experience, Avatar Adi Da describes the first six stages of life.
These six stages reflect the esoteric anatomy of the human being, and they account for all possible orientations to religion, culture, and Spirituality that have occurred throughout human history.
The seventh stage of life is Avatar Adi Da's own Avataric Revelation — the Divine Revelation of Reality Itself, or the Conscious Light of Existence Itself.
Avatar Adi Da also describes the qualities of genuine Spiritual Transmission and offers guidance in transcending naive belief and all forms of limited thinking.
Below we offer two forms of access to an excerpt from this Discourse:

an audio-only file, for those on a slower internet connection
How do you make sense out of all this complexity? If you use the tool of My Instruction relative to the esoteric anatomy of human beings and the seven stages of life, you can understand any communication made within the Great Tradition, at any time.
Human History Is One Great Tradition (DVD or CD) A Discourse Given by Avatar Adi Da Samraj 62 minutes
DVD subtitles in English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch, Finnish, Polish, Czech, Chinese and Hebrew Adi Da Samraj discusses how the various manifestations of Buddhism, and all religious and spiritual traditions, fit within one Great Tradition of human "religion" and Spirituality.
Avatar Adi Da's schema of the seven stages of life provides a tool for understanding all traditions based on the actual three-part structure of the human mechanism — the gross (or "outer" physical) dimension, the subtle (or "inner" energetic-emotional-mental) dimension, and the causal (or "root") dimension (which is the presumption of existence as a separate "I").
He also describes the qualities of real Spiritual Transmission in various traditions, and closes with a discussion of belief-based myths and how "religious provincialism" is transcended through the guidance offered in His Basket of Tolerance.
